My Story

The first camera I bought was a 35mm Pentax K1000. I taught myself the basics in anticipation of a trip to Zion National Park. My only regret is that I packed two rolls of film when I could've used a lot more. I immediately fell in love with photography as I shot film of the beautiful Utah canyons and my sweet family. And I've been on this journey ever since!

Now, my work is grounded in serving others. From our initial contact to the last shutter stop, I am here to capture your experience and emotion authentically as they are. This happens through communication and collaboration during the lifetime of our partnership. I will show up fully as myself in the hopes that you will feel comfortable doing so too.

“We’re so grateful to have had Melody capture memories of our family on several occasions! Communication has always been wonderful from planning, to meeting up, to receiving the finished product! Mel has a such a gift for making everyone around her feel instantly at ease - like it’s your best friend taking your photos! She is the kindest, most talented human and we cannot recommend her enough!”

“We recently had the pleasure of working with Melody for our pre-wedding photos. We could immediately see how dedicated Melody was to ensuring she captured moments that felt genuine to us. She was incredibly professional and guided our vision into something much more special than we could have imagined. She did all of this while simultaneously making the process feel comfortable, fun, and uniquely us. We cannot thank Melody enough for creating beautiful photographs and memories that we will cherish forever. She is truly the best!”

“Melody truly is such an amazing artist. She photographed my baby shower and looking through pictures brought me to tears! The photos take me back to that day and all of the feelings of love and joy I felt being surrounded by the people I love. The smile on my face was so genuine and she captured it without me even knowing a photo was being taken! That’s what makes her an artist and not just a photographer. Mel has an eye for those special moments and captures that all while making you laugh and smile because she’s so darn fun!”
